The Liberty Head nickel, sometimes referred to as the V nickel because of it's reverse design, is a five-cent piece. It was struck for circulation in 1883 until 1912. The obverse features a left-facing image of the goddess of Liberty.
In 1892, the classic Seated Liberty design was replaced with a now-iconic design by Chief Engraver Charles E. Barber, the Silver Barber Dime.
This dime features an intricate Lady Liberty on the obverse and a wreath-encircled “ONE DIME” denomination on the reverse.
It was struck for circulation in 1892 until 1916.
