This antique theatre poster is a rare piece of memorabilia from the 1880s-1890s. Featuring the play "Wife For Wife" written by John A Stevens, who also starred in the production. The poster was produced by Liebler & Maass Litho in New York and is a stone lithograph. Despite its age, the poster is in overall great condition, with minor flaws such as tiny chips, flattened stress lines, and light foxing. It has been professionally framed behind plexi-glass and measures approximately 29 3/4" X 19 3." This vintage poster is a unique addition to any collection of theater ads and flyers memorabilia.
Stevens was born in Baltimore in 1844. Among his plays were Passion's Slave, Wife for Wife, The Prairie Waif, and Daniel Boone. But his best known play was The Unknown: A River Mystery, which he wrote for himself to star in.
