This vintage map of European territories from 1835 is a unique piece of early American cartography. Produced and engraved by Bradford for his "Atlas of Universal Geography", it features original outline hand color and an almost primitive engraving style characteristic of this era of cartographic production in America. The map covers Germany and Switzerland, as well as Prussia, Rhine, Belgium, Holland, Austria, Alps, Italy, and Turkey. Measuring approximately 9 3/4" H x 12 3/4" W, this map is a nice looking example with a pleasing age patina, though it does have some light old damp staining to the sheet.
