These weights were historically used to measure gold dust, the primary regional currency for trade. With an average size of approximately 20mm x 27.5mm and weighing between 8-12 grams, these Ashanti brass gold weights are a fascinating glimpse into the rich cultural heritage of Ghana.
Previously owned by the Yale University Art Gallery, they are in good very fine condition, all in the same style. Shipping is available to both United States residents and international buyers.
